Kassandra MTB Ride

With success has been done the 1st Kassandra MTB Ride Sunday of 4 November! Despite the rainfalls of previous days that kept far enough friends, above 30 individuals were assembled in order to ride the paths of Kassandra while weather was great.

After breakfast with coffee and croissants in the Halkidiki Sports - Sportful shop, at the duration of which we saw closely all collexion of the Italian Sportful (unfortunately the bicycles of Steppenwolf were still not here), we began from asphalt in order to enter the mountain from the beautiful village of Kassandrino. Following a forest street and making 1-2 stops in order to enjoy landscapes and we are assembled again, we reached after 3-4 km in the ridge. The limited visibility unfortunately did not allow us to see Olympus and Sithonia however the view was great. We followed the ridge and changed the route after many wanted to enter in paths despite the fear for mud, we began to go down in long and soft bent slope that allowed little more fun! In certain points we met indeed mud but fortunately it was as much as to enjoy slipping without risk.

The route came around 35 km, that corresponded with the stops about 3 hours of roughly recreation and amusement on the mountain! In the end, all had a big smile in their faces - and enough mud in their clothes! Those who could remain a little more, we gathered in a local tavern and were shared impressions, telephones and photographs as the wish to organize something similar shortly!

others will follow shortly.

From our side we thank all that helped to organize this trip (a great thank to Tasos Efraimidis for the exceptional poster that he drew, also to Lu of Sportful for the mapping of the route) and everyone that honored with their attendance (pleasant surprise a pair that came from Athens but also the presence of Reizis-Kitrinos that organizes the race in Thassos, that came exclusively for this reason!)

Everyone else continue cycling because the next excursion is very near!

Friendlily,

Mihalis Aleyridis - Stathis Koytmeridis
